Les Amis Des Femmes

The starting point of Ági Vedres’ solo exhibition, formed of personal memory-fragments, was her grandmother’s former light blue tulle scarf and its graphics and lettering: Les Amis Des Femmes ( The Women’s Friends). Her photographs capture the elusively present non-verbal symbol-system of femininity in subjective moments. The portrait subjects are the unrepeatable beauties of everyday life embodying unintentionally the patterns of femininity - in a milieu where they might flourish according to their personalities and become one’s flower through lace, velvet, organza, thus ‘the friends of the women’..
